Are there any glitches with either of these? faults?

One thing that worries me about the Sony Ericsson K800i is the fact that there are so many retailers now stocking clearance/refurbished/reconditioned models.
Its not an old phone, but possibly one with 'glitches'???0 -
ah - thank you! I am also in the same situation. I can not decide which is better.
The K800 has a better camera by all accounts. The problem I have read about it, is the camera on the back which has a slide shutter - I hear it can open in ya pocket easily. Plus this bulks it up a bit. A friend has one, I'm hoping to catch him sometime soon, so I can quiz him and have a good look at it myself.
I find it a bit difficult to compare the K and W range of SE mobiles. It's not as obvious as comparing a model of car! There must be differences however. Another friend of mine has the W810i and it really is a lovely little phone. Simple, discreet and fully functional.
By looks and fashion I would defo pick the W810i, but through Money Saving I am possibly looking at the K800i on 3 mobile.
If you were to compare by price of the physical handset, the K800i costs more. But does this make it better?
What exactly is it you are looking for in a phone. I think that is the question(s) that we need to ask ourselves. I want a good minutes and txt tariff, and to never go over my tariff (unless it is a special circumstance for a particular call). So many of my friends have tariffs for £30/£35 a month and they rack up massive phone bills. I said, if I go contract I will never go over the tariff....a challenge I intend to try and prove to them as to how you have to be smart and dedicated to save money. It upsets me to see them all get ripped off by the first thing they see.
Whatever phone/tariff/provider/deal we go for we will always read good and probably more so bad things about. It's a tough decision to get right. I do not want an 18month contract for a few reasons actually, but one being I can change and opt to a 'better' offer in the future easier.
I know I've rambled on a bit and not covered the exact answer to your question - but perhaps it will help you think more about what your needs are first? I dunno.
Let me know what you do go for though!
Good luck!
...whoops - just noticed you said W850...ah well - maybe my post will still help...0 -
Im getting 4 addtional lines on my contrac and 3 of those include phones, I already picked 3 K800i. 2 of the 3 I will be changing to W850i, but the the other one which is for me I'm unsure about.
I want something easy to use like a Samsung phone (D520,D600,D900....). Camera is not the biggest priority, I can do with 2MP. Music is more of a priority even though I wont base my decision on this feature alone. How is W850i's music compared to K800i?
Is the music louder on one phone?0 -

The W850i is designed around it's music features - you've got a ruddy great button that takes you straight to the Walkman player, for example. It has a speaker on the back designed specifically [I think] to play the music through, it comes with a 1gig card and the Walkman 2.0 software with it is nice and easy to use. You can use any pair of headphones you like into the W850i, any standard portable headphones will plug into the handsfree mic bit [not the phone itself] no worries.
I don't know what the K800i's music is like, but when I was playing with one instore I got the impression it'd been designed around that camera [a good 'un, mind], and the music tacked on as an afterthought.0 -
i have both of these phones so i will answer specific questions if anyone wants.
its a simple choice between camera and music really, although the k800 offers decent enough music and is easily upgradeable to 1gb storage with a memory card.
neither of these phones are as good as the k750i in my opinion, i regret selling mine.0
