HELP - Big time external drive failures

Currently trying diskdigger on it, It's found a load more files and only around 10% complete. Only problem there is the filenames don't appear to be available, however so long as I get the pics back (or even just a good chunk of them) I really don't care.

Will post back with the outcome as soon as I can. I guess I should to try alternate methods once I've got as much as I can off it to start with

Disk digger scan has completed, and things are looking up :j:j

Loads of files identified of various formats, most importantly loads of pics of the kids :T:T. I've just got to re-sort then into a half decent directory structure and make at least 7 copies of each and every one of them.

Thanks all for your assistance, I'm going to relax at this point for a couple of days (Lets out a huge sigh of relief) but I'll probably have a go with some of the other suggestions made on here to see if I can improve the situation any further.

Worst case scenario now (touch wood) is I've got loads of work to do to arrange them as I want them.
