Help re monitor calibration

Options
I am trying to calibrate my monitor with the Spyer Pro.

I have recently upgraded the computer to Windows 7 from XP. I had problems before with the set up and eventually found out it was to do with my graphics card (NVidia card) and it being set up for dual monitors rather than one monitor. At the time I was able to change this to single monitor and get it working. Now with windows 7 I have the same problem, but can't seem to find out where to change these settings. I am not very pc minded which doesn't help, I found out in device manager that there appears to be 2 monitors so I disabled one but this has had no effect. When I try to open Spyder the page flies accross the monitor as if to go to another monitor and disapears from view.

Can anyone advise me on how to correct these settings to dispay just one monitor? ( I only have one)

Hope this makes sense to someone technical. :o

Many thanks.

  • Try this.
    1. Press the WINDOWS KEY on your keyboard (bottom left) and immediately type 'Display' into the search box that comes up.
    2. Click 'Change Display Settings' in the search results.
You should be able to disable the display you dont require here. I cant be more specific unfortunately as I only have one display on this computer, but you should be able to see the second display and there should be an option to disable it.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the advice, I will give it a go and see what happens.

  • Thanks a million HappyIdiotTalk, did what you suggested and with a few clicks and heart thumping moments I am happy to say it is now working :) I had looked at that page previously (not sure how I managed to find it) but wasn't sure just what to do. I always get nervous about changing settings etc in case I mess the whole computer up... which I am quite good at!

Thanks again for your help. x
