Vasara, unfortunately these days there is no 'correct time' to book a late deal, as prices and markets are so volatile these days. There are many things that could happen which will ultimately alter prices & availability, such as:

    1. a tour operator going bust. this then takes hundreds, if not thousands, of holidays off the market and makes those people who were due to go on holiday with that particular tour operator holidayless. they will then be in a panic to re-book, and with limited places available holidays all of a sudden become a 'premium' product, and prices go up. Just look at what happened when XL & Goldtrail went bust. I was seeing prices going up as i was looking at them on the screens.

    2. There could be a natural disaster (like there has been in mexico lately), and when things like this happens, tour operators may decide to suspend that particular area for a while. this will mean that people who are booked there will require moving to other area's and destinations, again causing a shortage of holidays, which then means that prices go up.

The main thing to consider is this: forget what price you could've got the holiday for, and just think about the price that you did get the holiday for, and with that price, are you happy with what you paid.

I guess you are, otherwise you wouldn't have booked and paid for it. Likewise, you would have been even happier if the price had gone UP since you booked.

The main thing is have a good holiday. Cuba is lovely, went there a few years ago, and should be brill at this time of year.

Just a few things though. Have your Cuban Visa Cards been included in the price (When we book with TC's through the office for Cuba they alwats are, but just check). Be careful to read the instructions on filing the cards out very very carefully, as if they are done wrong you will need to buy new ones. I would suggest filling in in pencil first, then when 100% happy, overwrite in pen.

Secondly, if you are thinking of using any credit / debit cards over there, just make sure the cards you plan to use are not in any way shape or form affiliated with any american bank (unless this has changed recently, but not heard anything about this), otherwise it will not be accepted.

Finally, remember that adequate insurance is a MUST now for travelling to Cuba, and if the company you use gives the option of worldwide including / excluding america, check exactly which you will require. some companies put the caribbean in the same band as america, some cover it totally seperate.

    Have a great time though.

    Regards

Yes what is wrong with people? This is a public money saving forum not an English lesson so there is no need to pull people up on spelling or grammar.
