Whats the cheapest new car I can buy in UK.

I personally wouldn't buy a brand new car, they devalue so quickly! A 1 or 2 year old, good quality car will give you almost as much motoring time, for a lot less money.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

Hyundai i10 is cheap and seems good, fiat panda also good value.0

Would say struggle for under 7k, As others have said buy a pre Reg 1 or 2 year old.

Cheapest new at the moment is a Fiat Panda or Peugeot 107 which can be had for 6k.0

A Panda is about the best bet @ ~£5900.
Saying that, a car isn't a washing machine and I wish people would stop treating it as such :rotfl:0 -
If I was the OP and buying a cheap car and running it for 12 years I very much doubt I would be too worried about the depreciation. I would also be keen in knowing I had the car from the start and any potential future problems were not caused by some boy racer etc before I bought it.
I will get accused of being a Fiat employee soon, but the Panda ia great value. The small Chevrolet (Daewoo) might be cheap I haven't checked.
Edit:- Pity you hadn't used scrappage last year OP.0 -
OP here.Thanx for all comments so far.I tend to agree with above post as I dont tend to change things til they die .I still have my first model wife that I aquired 27 years ago,and wont get another one till she claps out.
The Panda appeals to me[as like the atoz] it has a good square back[also like my wife] which is useful as I carry a lot of boxes in it for display work. But it seems to be a bit of a 'womans' car, which is all I seem to see driving them.Anybody got one to say if they are ok to drive,as I would have prefered an i10 but the shape does not suit.0 -

Panda gets good reviews pretty much universally and I agree it's a lot more practical than the i10. Never driven one but it'd be my choice if I was buying brand new for £6k.0 -
I love my Panda. My OH is quite happy driving it too. The previous owner was a man so it's not just women that drive them.0

I bought a new Fiat Panda in March this year. I did a lot of research before buying and wanted something in Insurance Group 1 with very low road tax. It was a choice between the Panda or a Suzuki Alto.
I chose the Panda, and I just love driving the car. It's economical and very easy to park too!0
