Does anyone know if £185 is reasonable quote to install a "high gain Benchmarked (??) Aerial + new main line cable to master bedroom" ?
Our signal is struggling esp Freeview signal so got fellow from tvaerialcompany.co.uk to visit, survey and quote which cost £29 and is deducted from cost of installation if taken up
We have a semi detached house and live in West London area
Really dont know what is a reasonable costs so wondered if anyone can assist?
Cheers

Depends where the aerial is going in relation to the bedroom.Chances are as well, you could get away with a cheaper type aerial. You should have gotten two or three quotes for the work & any company worth their salt will quote for free.By them charging you a deductible 'fee' they've basically guaranteed themselves the job.0

This is what we do day in day out and price is top end on the limited info given.
Ill start by saying I have no experience with this company, however they are just a marketing company that (attempt to) sell leads to fitters like us.
I have only heard of bad experiences with nationwide aerial fitters or marketing firms like this, quotes/estimates very quickly be raised once on site for "non standard" jobs, over priced amps etc..
These firms need to employ or sell leads to local contractors so there is another level of people that need profit, and the actual fitters don't have their real company name on the job so tend not to approach with as much pride or fear of come back.
I STRONGLY recommend you get 3 quotes (not estimates) from local companys that are either/both RDI or CAI members.
Not normally a need to pay for quotes but for a little job like this its a real hassle driving through London, a lot of times people want you to problem solve for free, explain works needed in a quote and then do it themselves. If a CAI or RDI want to levy a deductable charge then don't dismiss it out of hand.
But a good firm should be able to quote from Google street view and multimap.0
