I just came back from a ladies indulgnce evening held at my local school, its held for all the mums they come to the school and have beauty treatments, people have stalls selling things as well and they hold a rafell. Make a lot of money for the school. Its £5 for 15min manaicure, massage, mini makeovers and hand wax treatments. Fantasic evening.

One way we made a lot of money for our school PTA was by pound matching. Many of the larger companies (BArclays, Shell BP etc.) have schemes where they will pound match charity events that their employees are involved in. We always held a raffle at our summer fayre and as the lady who organised it worked for Barclays they would match up to £750.00 raised. Not all of the compaies will sponsor main-stream education but it's worth getting people to ask!

Try phoning local attractions/farms/indoor soft play areas etc., where you would take children for a day out (places where it is not free to get in). Ask them if they would be willing to donate some discount tickets, free child entry etc. You can then use these as prizes.

Also try local businesses that are within half a mile of the school, even if they are not obviously child-related. One school near me gets a replica kids' ride-on toddler sports car each year, donated by the local Sports Car Showroom.

Oh, and try the local football/rugby/basketball Club, who may be able to donate tickets or a signed item that would be popular with the kids.

You will have to be quick though, phone this coming week, otherwise you won't get donations posted out to the school in time. Some businesses would want the request in writing (on headed notepaper showing the school's charity number) so it may slow things down a bit.

Have you tried Asda or one of the other supermarkets in your area?

Each Asda store in my area has an Events Co-ordinator and from what I understand they are allowed to donate stock from their store to good causes.

You could ask for raffle prizes or food/drinks/cakes/biscuits/sweets to sell at the school. I thought that they would not want you to sell it as they had given it to you for nothing but so long as it's to raise funds for the school it's okay.

They also have things like bouncy castles and entertainers which they sometimes use on "event" days at Asda and if they are not booked on that particular day they will let you use them.

Also I have heard of M&S and Bodyshop donating raffle prizes.

Just have a wander along the High Street and enquire in the shops, some might be willing to donate something to benefit the local school.

How about making some reindeer food? Its easy to make - oats, and some glitter. Put into a small evelope with a santa sticker on the back (easy to print some off) and sell for about 50p each. Its a good seller and the kids will love making sure that santa finds his way! Hope this helps
    Love is all around! :rotfl:

When you advertise this event always put on the bottom the Reg charity no and ask for anyone wishing to sell items to tel "meg on 01234 56789." This way Direct sellers will be able to contact you for a table. i.e Jewellry, Usborne books, body shopat home, Chocoholics, Phoenix cards etc.
You can then charge them a price for a table and ask for a raffle donation. Or you could get 10% of any profits made. Or you could ring these organisationsa and ask for a rep to contact you.
