LBS the clamping company based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. Have recently featured on Watchdog. Also they have fines totalling £17,500. After a two month investigation in to the above case Essex police said no further action was going to be taken. You couldn't make it up:mad:

Appalling behaviour both by the Clamper and the Police. That the Clamper re-registered the car shows that they were only interested in depriving the owner. The owner of LBS is probably a mason with the Chief Constable of Essex Police. The man without a signature.0

Not that it makes any difference to how wrong this is, but the article didn't say whether he got the balance of the proceeds of the car sale.0

Scum and the pigs working together again, it's enought to make a cat puke."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0

The victim has confirmed on another forum that he hasn't, (the car was worth several thousand pounds) although apparently he's been sent his wallet back. He really needs to seek a judicial review of Essex Police's (in)actions, if he can afford it, or, better still, to bring a human rights challenge against the Government for licensing and supporting this blatant criminal behaviour ("peaceful enjoyment of property").
It also further illustrates that, in many cases, there really is no realistic alternative to the use of "self-help", regardless of any damage caused to the clamper's property.0 -

So the Police have legalised theft.
No wonder the public has such a low opinion of the Police these days."There's no such thing as Macra. Macra do not exist."
"I could play all day in my Green Cathedral".
"The Centuries that divide me shall be undone."
"A dream? Really, Doctor. You'll be consulting the entrails of a sheep next. "0 -
And why did they clamp this car?
No doubt because he hadn't paid debts whilst running around with a 10k car and thousands of pounds worth of posessions that could have settled the relativly small debt in comparison.
No one comes out of this well.0 -
Why don't you just read the first post on the link I gave above? He/she was parked legally in own space etc.MrRedundant wrote: »And why did they clamp this car?
