Which end of bath for Taps???

My plumber fit the bath so that the taps were at the same end as the shower - but it wasn't for the taps that he did it that way - it's because doing it that way meant that the drain was directly under the shower head thus making it easier for the water to drain away.
It had nothing to do with where the taps were.0
