  • Hi, sorry to move on from flirting at the tills at Sainsburys and back to ASDAs but thats life.
Now the students have gone it is very hard to get any coupons past the cashiers. I tried to use 4 from the asda magazine and the cashier put them through no problrm even though I had not bought the items. Unfortunately the till demanded the supervisor and she had to take them off. The strange thing was that the coupons took the whole amount off and not just a few pence, it was very odd. Looks like the glory days might be over

    Sandybrag,

Feel free to send your hubby in anytime, might even give him my staff discount - lol! Haven't been chatted up but have been eyed up and had someone pass me their number with their credit card - lol!

On a more serious note though, we are far more fussy because I know the hassle it is to gather together all the coupons every day, bag them up and send them off. It's time consuming and they tend to go missing too. That's probably why Asda are doing it too.

Our customers don't tend to use many coupons anyway, mainly our own and Nectar ones. Try going to a checkout operator who looks like they don't want to be there/don't care to try to get your invalid coupons accepted as they won't even look.

Out of interese, has anyone else's local ASDA stopped accepting coupons at the Self-Scan Checkouts? The last time I was in the ASDA WAL-MART Supercentre in Aberdeen they had a notice saying they couldn't be accepted.
Council Tax £1,928.85, Fines £90.00, Old Car Tax £267.00, Gas £337.25, Electric £54.42

No, had no problems here them taking them, I had bought the items as well, however, the discount came off but just as I was about to pay the till bleeped and the checkout lady had to call a supervisor over. This was about 2 days ago now

My Sister got pulled up using an Olay one this morning, something came up on the till and the assistant came over, took the coupon out of the till and gave her it back and voided out the transaction, so its still happening especially with high value coupons

I know with Tescos you scan the coupon in after you've finished with the shopping as there is a coupon button on the self scan - but with Asda do you do it as you go along rather than select a coupon option ? Do they have the slots to put them into the machine like tesco ?

Wins : McCains garden games set, 2xTickets to Alton Towers, Links of London friendship bracelet, 2xIdeal Home Show tickets, McFly album CD, Virgin Balloon flight for 2 with a case of ScrumpyJack cider and 2 ltd edition jackets, Powerboat racing experience, £50 Virgin voucher, Aerobie Pro flying ring & Rice Krispie squares, Tesco baby pack
    :j
  • The asda in blackpool is the same as the tesco - self scan & do coupns at the end. Post them in the little slot.
It only asked for the superviser when it came to give me my change..... but it was late and she just accepted the transaction coz i'd already posted the coupons......

In my Asdas last week the slot was closed up with a notice covering it saying please wait for supervisor.

I still have a few Olay vouchers left and want to use them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's the coupons out of the current Asda magazine, they have been printed with the wrong barcode. Best to use them in Tesco as Asda staff seem to know about the error.

There is a separate thread about the Asda Coupons glitch, on this board.
