Surely coupons are issues to try new products at a reduced cost
Eh?. Have I missed something, who said anything about not buying the product in the first place?. I think you should learn to pause and read the thread more carefully next time before trying to put words into peoples mouths. I always buy the product and just want to get through the till as quickly as possible like every other shopper. Is that really too much to ask!0 -

like here......0 -
ASDA don't mind excepting coupons as they are all bagged together in the cash office and sent off to be redeemed. ASDA do not lose any money whatsoever from allowing people to redeem them (apart from their own coupons) it is just more of a faff to get the money instead of cash.
But it makes no odds to them.0 -
Hi, I also suffered the embarrasment of holding up the queue today when the SA had to call for supervisor becasue I had exceeded the 10% off?
Funny, my bill came to £46 odd and I was using £3.30 of coupons....... When I went to school that didn't exceed 10% !!!!!!!
Anyway said supervisor trotted over and tapped into the till and hey presto problem solved!

I don't see ANY problem with using coupons - if the manufacturer has issued them then they obviously want them used, if the supermarket is happy to use it's power to accept the coupons even if products not bought, that's good for me, a consumer. Multinationals like P&G don't need any sympathy.0 -

The tills at my ASDA in Oadby are set to refuse more than 4 coupons, and a fifth sets off an alarm and is automatically deducted. I got £3.50 taken off last week from a £110 shop, so I don't think 10% is anything to do with it any more, at Oadby ASDA at least. No supervisor had to come over, the SA dealt with it herselfA chicken crossing the road is poultry in motion0 -
Did £55 shop in Asda, used £3.25 worth of coupons, wouldn't take any over £1 unless I had bought the item and wouldn't take OLay £5 ones. They also had to check to see if they sold some of the items. Had to wait at the till when i tried to pay with a gift card as til said I had exceeded voucher amount, again it was less than 10% of the bill. Was waiting about 10 minutes and queue was forming behind me, waiting for a runner to tap in a few numbers. Checkout girl did give me a smiley voucher for £1 for keeping me waiting though.now mum of 4!!!0

I visited asda for 1st time yesterday and picked up 4 olay items - went throught self scan and it took 4 olay vouchers :T Went back to car and realised I still had another 3 olay vouchers in my purse so went back in and bought wine (2 for £8 ) plus some bread etc(no olay products) and used another 3 on the self scan. I spent total of £36 but paid only £1.61
So guys don't despair !!0
