Rubbish Ringgo ?

What is the legal position Ringgo have for stating that it is the consumers responsibility to get the car park account code correct when using it's telephone service for which there is no car park code search facility or god forbid someone to talk to.

I ended up having to pay twice (nb: you pay for 24hrs even if you use for only 8) and then got a parking fine on top because the original code I was given by a train passenger was wrong. The guard didn't know the code either.

Ringo say tough!

I say they didn't help me find the code on their telephone service and by then I was travelling on the train I was late for and miles away from the car park sign. I paid twice in the end to try get it on their system so ncp wouldn't fine me but ofcourse they did.

Surely allocating my money is their administrative issue and the fact I parked my car there and paid is enough...isn't it ???

No, but they can stick an invoice on your windscreen though, and Neil might not want one of those.

Well who wants an unenforceable speculative invoice stuck on their car? answers on postage stamp please!

So please neil ignore the ticket as they will not take you to court, you have paid, you can prove it, there is no loss!
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Next time a private parking company tickets you, ignore it completely, they will not take you to court, its an expensive lesson to pay the scammers, and unless you take them and the landowners to the small claims you will never see your money again.

Only councils and police give enforceable tickets, certain rail companies issue tickets under byelaws that they say will take you to court, I am sure stigy will tell you more about that.

Although you'll have the inevitable posters chime straight in shortly with the likes of "there is no appeal" or "there's an address, but it's a pointless task to appeal" etc etc, in relation to Train Operating Companies (TOCs) I disagree. I wouldn't advise going to NCP, but sidestep them and write to the TOC's customer services department, who tend to be more sympathetic, and seem to pull the strings given that they contract NCP to manage their car parks (in most cases). It'll work even more in your favour if you're an Annual Gold Card holder though, as you can play the old "I pay £5,000 a year don't ya know!" chestnut. I suggest you try the TOC first.

RingGo won't want to know, because they didn't issue the ticket.

Although they could have got it right in the first place and not invoiced someone who had paid. If you do appeal please come back and let us know the outcome?

And when you don't get your money back, make sure you sue NCP and the TOC jointly. You can prove you paid, so you will win. NCP will ignore it but the TOC will have assets for the bailiffs to sieze.

How does the TOC come in to this one? To be honest, how does NCP either? Surely RingGo is at fault?

Neil, if you do chose to sue all and sundry, make surely you hire a good barrack room lawyer. :D
