    Thanks 321.
There is only OH and I in our household but if you can cook whole chickens or legs of lamb in it and if I can make enough to freeze some it sounds worth having a bigger SC (I have seen 3.5l and 6.5l and wasn't sure which to go for).

There is only DH and I in our household too, so I can cut back quite a bit on food. He is not a fussy eater either and is quite happy with anything I cook :j

    :)

  • Hiya, Small Steps are brilliant, as you say they all add up. I have a slow cooker buts its a small one. Its funny how my priorities have changed :money:. Any other time i would not have been happy if anyone had bought me a "household" gift for Christmas or birthday, now I am asking for them :rotfl:.

may wait till we have a little more money to get one we want. :money: Brilliant, its this kind of thinking that will get us where we want to be.

    Keep trucking.

  • I agree it is all about ths small steps which are easy to stick to and add up big stuff can hurt and not be easy to maintain good luck.xx
  • Hi everyone, hope you all had a great weekend.
I'm glad people agree with me about the small steps leading up to big steps, I guess it's like the old saying, "look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves". Though I reckon credit card and loan companies have the same idea for themselves - "let them pile the pounds onto our cards and the amount in interest they will be paying back will look after us" or something similar!
Managed to pay £8.46 off the card today, so that's fab! :jI'm going to try and do some padding on my credit card, however small, but I know this will not happen every day, at least not at the moment as the funds just arn't there. They will be though!
I have roughly worked out now what I owe on my credit card so I will put the approximate figure in my sig, then as soon as I know the final amount I will change it accordingly.
My cheap Friday night out with the girls turned out to be even cheaper than I thought it would be. We wern't out for long, which was a shame, but my friend bought me a drink so all I used was my petrol, so that was a very cheap night!
Tonight is sort out my shredding night. We have so much of it that I am just going to bring it to work. The work one is much better and won't break down after only a few pieces of paper, so I won't have to buy a new one.
    Have a great day all.

  • Hi cakelover, thanks for stopping by my diary!

Just wanted to say that you sound very determined and in completely the right frame of mind to beat your debt and achieve your goals.

  • Thanks Pennies

Went to the bank today and got some money bags so I could add up my coins in my piggy bank. I have exactly £6 in there so that will go in the bank tomorrow and be paid off the debt. I will have more than one payment show up on my statement next month, I wonder if the card company will start thinking, "oh here comes a new MSE'r!" :D
Managed to get my paypal sorted too which is excellent! Last time I tried to login I locked myself out by putting the wrong password in and for love nor money I couldn't get it sorted! However, this time I just tried changing my password and it worked, only took 5 minutes! I have just over £8 in there which has been in there a long time. I can't decide if to pay it off the card (that's what I would really like to do) or leave it in there so when I start ebaying there will be money in there to pay any sellers fees I may need to pay. What do you guys think?
Haven't done my shredding yet but I will do it at some point. It will help with the decluttering I want to do! Looks like I have the weekend pretty much free at the moment though so if it stays that way I am going to try and get some more decluttering done and hopefully increase that pile of ebay stuff I need to get started on. I may also be going to a Tote's sale on Saturday morning. They have an outlet type thing just down the road to me a few mornings before Christmas where they sell their stuff cheaper, so good for Christmas. It will be things like gloves, scarves, slippers, so depends what I decide to get people, but no harm in looking just in case.
I didn't realise how motivating doing this diary is. I didn't think it woud be, but it is and I've only just started. I've started reading other peoples diaries too but there are so many and alot of them have got so long I can keep up! lol. Very motivational reading though, keep it up DFW's!

  • Hi Fizzypops, thanks for stopping by
Think I best hunt around for all my bags that are hiding in my wardrobe then, hopefully there will be some change lurking around just waiting for me to put on my debt! Do you have a diary?

Hi - I'd leave it in there for sellers fees as then the first few things you sell will have a higher profit..or at least seem to have! :D xx
