Blimey hun, you are soooooooooooooo organised, truly an inspiration and you are definately tuned in to finding bargainsxx

I only have 2 kids and kinda thought £50 shopping would be a virtual impossibilty - i so need to get myself organised!!!!! - i guess there are things i could cut back on further ( i hate to admit it but i do love cleaning wipes rather than cloths and spent £3 on them this week (they were on offer though - honest:rotfl:) plus bottles of Mr Coke caffeine free are always in the house, £3 this week for 2 bottles rather than £6 for 4!!!!! - i'm not even convincing myself here!)
I'm gonna have to have a further re-think!!!

I do a lot of baking cakes for orders but make little for home which i should definately do, i have to be quite careful at home with food as DD2 is as thin as a pin & DD1 is carrying a little (well more than a little) extra weight that needs addressing and she can be a sneaky eater so whatever is around tends to get eaten quickly - Just had a brainwave whilst writing this (i must sit down now :rotfl:) i'm going to make some scrummy stuff for home, choc cake, scones etc and leave one slice/portion etc out for each then freeze the rest in individual portions- yay

Well done on paying the extra off of your CC, it always feels sooooo good to know the debt is diminishing rather than increasing!!

    Have a great dayxx

Well i think if i stick with your thread i'll be learning from the master of wise spending:D

Today's plans have gone belly up due to unexpected interruptions but as least it's meant no expensive day tripping with the kids - did pop into Morries a little earlier and bought a meal deal for £5 + they had my face cream on offer (half price and since turning 40 i need all the help i can get!!) so bought both on my cc (supposed to be in my purse for emergencies only!!!!) but as i didn't have my other card with me worked on the basis of paying the amount off of my cc tonight, would rather have done it that way than paying full price for the cream!!

My mum sorted DD's dinner at her house so no food to be doing tonight - yay a night off of cooking, so i'm gonna roll with toast later.

Hope to crack on with never ending washing piles and ironing -( as ridiculous as it may sound it's only dawned on me over the last couple of day's that if we didn't own as many clothes we would have far less washing, so time to get ruthless!!!) plus hope to sort a couple more kitchen cupboards this eve - we'll see!!!!

    Xxx

  • Hi Trixie:wave:

Good luck with all the washing, ironing and cleaning!!!

DH is supposed to do ours but I get fed up of looking at it so I quite often give in. DS1 does his own ironing since turning 16 and it's amazing how little he actually irons after being so fussy when I did it for him!!

It's one of those days where I work 2 shifts so have left kids and DH with leftover hm fishcakes and cottage pie. I will be cooking with the clients I work with tonight so dinner at work and sciving off an hour early as I unexpectedly have friends staying over (they are going to get themselves a take away - good friends!!). Will be another late/boozy night, I must have drunk enough to sink a ship this week, doesn't happen very often.

Don't blame you for getting your cream when you saw it on special, I do the same and stock up , it's soooo expensive otherwise and like you I'm now on the dark side of 40:rotfl:.

So called day off tomorrow but with DH and kids home I don't expect I'll get much done!

    Have a great evening

  • Hi All

Updated signature with new loan and cc balances and used up one more toilettry item.

Cooked a really cheap dinner tonight, pasta 18p, reduced bacon steaks 15p, reduced sliced chicken breast 19p and pot of reduced mascarpone 15p plus a few mushrooms so less than £1 for the 5 of us. Fried of the bacon (cut into strips) added the cooked chicken and sliced mushrooms, when cooked added the mascarpone to mke a sauce and stirred in the cooked pasta with lots of black pepper, it was delicious, will definately be making that again.

Meal plan done for next week. Spent £38 in Morrisons on Friday and stocked up the store cupboards. Must try not to buy anything but bread and milk this week. Cooked chocolate muffins and cheese scones for snacks and next week's lunch boxes. Also made 2 sponges for a charity event tomorrow which I am helping at.

My 'slummy jar' is nearly full now and I don't know whether to count it now and put the money away or to just start another one and wait until I really need the money, last time I counted there was about £80 in there.

DS1 is really pleased, he has worked everyday this week and earned £200, hopefully he will be able to get a lot more hours over the summer hols.

Just had a Lush bath and now sat with a glass of OH's homemade gin and tonic, had 2 large glasses last night and was well sloshed, when I looked today I had drunk half a 70cl bottle.

    Night All,

  • That dinner sounds soooooo yummy and so does the Gin:beer:.

  • Very MSE dinner tonight, used 4 packs of Lloyd Grosman Risotto base (5p each from Big Brands for Less), added some of the left over gammon joint, half tin of value peas and half a tin of value sweetcorn, dried parsley and garlic and plenty of black pepper. Made 5 servings, cost pennies and was YUMMY:j

Gonna make this again tonight as OH cooked a lovely gammon joint for dinner last night, only fair he did the dinner as I was at a charity event all day on his behalf!!

Spent £6 yesterday on milk, bread and cheese. So far so good. Packed lunches made with home baked goodies and ham from freezer. Might cook some more cakes tonight but will see how I am feeling after work as hardly slept last night.:(

Right, off to work now, have a good day

    :DHey 321,

Hope you slept better last night - with the shifts you work you definately need a good nights sleep xx

Your bargain suppers are such an inspiration and sound soooooooo scrummy too!!!

Been off the radar for a few days as lots of stuff going on, so half term didn't exactly go to plan and didn't get chance to try the weetabix brownies but i'm hoping once this week is out of the way i should have a little more time!!! (maybe:rotfl:)

DD1 birthday this week and has opted to have a 3 tier cake (as i make novelty cakes the kids can choose what cake they would like and barely costs me anything other than my time, which this week is more precious than money!!!!) plus i have 2 other cakes to make by the weekend plus cupcakes plus DD's sleepover party x 6, fanily birthday tea and mix that with shopping for birthday pressies, party bag contents, vets appts (for very poorly pooch) car going into the garage, shopping and general life stuff i think i'm gonna be tearing my hair out by the weekend

    Have a good day xx

  • Hi All,

Just got back from Morrisons, met DH there after work and had something to eat, left DS1 cooking pasta for the kids tea. Did a bit of shopping whilst there. They have some good deals on, got 2x500ml bottles of extra virgin olive oil for £3 and treated myself to that new instant coffee with ground beans in it as I like the Starbucks one so much but it is £1.50ish for 3 sachets (ie 3 cups!!), this one was half price, £1.50 for 85g (supposedly 40 odd cups) - much better:).

It was reductions time so have got tomorrows dinner sorted, chinese style pork steaks with stir fry, noodles and chinese noodle balls and wantons - loverly  and cheap too!! About £1.70 for 5 of us.

Hubby bought some stuff for his business and got the 6p off petrol voucher so filled up the main car, should see us ok for a couple of weeks.

The risotto last night was a great success, the kids ate every scrap, I'm really lucky as they eat pretty much whatever I put in front of them:A.

    good night
