Hi Trixie,
Glad all is going well for you. I know working extra hours can impose on your social life but just think of the extra money, that is what keeps me going on long days like today.
My, you are going to be busy with all of that cooking and baking you plan to do, sounds good though, fingers crossed you suceed. My plans are, clean, tidy and bake Saturday, night out with the girlies Saturday night:beer: and Rugby on Sunday morning followed Ebaying!!
Haven't managed to do any decorating this week, still using the dreaded paintstripper gunge and don't like using it when the kids are around. Will crack on with it again end of next week if I don't get any more extra shifts!
Have a great weekend

Ebayed 2 ikea bags of stuff this month, made over £100 towards Xmas pressies, still got 2 more bags to go and then the loft to tackle!
Baby steps but I will get out of this mess.

Hey lovely,
Good to hear the stairs are nearly finished!!!
Well, i'm in serious sorting mode at the mo due to moving house in 3/4 weeks - extra bedroom in the new house - yippee!!!!!!!!!! - i'll be able to send wrangling children to their respective bedrooms - woo hoo!!!!!!
I've been ebaying too, especially as it was free listing weekend, 2 black sacks full of stuff listed and many, many more bags to go, quite a daunting task ahead but has to be done within the next 3 weeks - eek!!
After the big loft sort out earlier in the year, mine has become v stuffed again, can't even think about that this week!! focusing on sorting/selling vast excess from my wardrobe and the kids outgrown stuff - 4 bags to charity today (4 bags less to move!!!)
My OH's idea of sorting is to put everything in a skip, so the ebaying is down to me, i couldn't bear to just throw stuff away plus the money made over the years has bought so much new stuff (he just hasn't got any patience!!!!) - i get a thrill out of seeing the auction ending and the bids pinging in (hopefully!!!)
Have a good week xx

Good Luck with the house move Trixie, exciting times but very, very stressful. I hate moving but my sister loves it! Dread to think how we could move all of our clutter, the loft is bulging as is the very large shed - nightmare.
Can definately see the light with the staircase now, just the last stubborn bits to get rid of now, was beginning to lose the will to live at one point and DH just stood there with 'I told you so' plastered right across his face!
Only working til Wednesday this week and off next week so the plan is to get the hall, stairs and landing totally finished. Trying to pursuade DH that a victorian style airer over the stairs would be great for drying clothes in the winter as I hate the dining room looking like a laundry and we don't have a utility or a spare bedroom to hide it all in, he's just not agreeing......YET!:rotfl:.
Totally get where you're coming from with the ebaying v skip thing, DH would definately hire a skip for my stuff and the kids but probably ebay his stuff cos it's far more precious!!!! I'm still working through the Ikea bags, will do a load more during my time off, will aim for 10 items a day or until I reach my free listings limit for the month (You do know that you can list 100 items starting at 99p or less free each month?).
Got a bit frustrated with the feedback system this week, had a serial non-payer win one of my items and then not pay, checked her feedback and she had done the same thing at least 14 times this month. She seems to bid on whatever takes her fancy and then pick and choose from the auctions she has won! I filed an unpaid item dispute but the only way you can warn other sellers is to leave positive feedback and a comment as you cannot leave negative feedback for a buyer! Doesn't seem right does it.
Right then Trixie, enough is enough, move away from the pc and get on with that packing!!!!!
Good luck

Hey hun,
I hate moving too!!!! - i've got too much stuff for it to be a easy streamlined exercise ( DH insists i'm a hoarder (what me!!!!) and i insist i have a lot of 'just in case' things (aka hoarder - lol!!) - it's one of the things we argue about quite a lot, so streamlining will be good for all of our sakes!!
This is our 3rd move and hopefully the last!!!
I didn't realise you could list 100 free things as standard every month - yippee, similarly to yourself i'm trying to list at least 10 things every day, didn't happen yesterday as was late home from work and then wrangling children made it pretty impossible to concentrate on anything, hopefully tonight may be a little more productive!!
Cardboard packing boxes are venturing home from work today, so i'm going to start packing as i'm sorting, i'm filled with dread about how much will have to be moved:eek: - i'm quite embarrassed by the amount of stuff we have (i have!!!) - Serial shopaholic and hoarder - not a good combo unless you live in a manor house!!
Have alovely day

OMG, you sound so like me.
Enough shoes to sink a boat, so many clothes the floordrobe is bulging!!:o
My friends laugh at what they lovingly call my Nuclear fallout bunker, ie the larder/cupboard under the stairs which is always overstocked with anything and everything (and yet another order from Big Brands for Less is winging it's way to me as we speak!:j). Usually enough toilet rolls for a herd of elephants with dehli belly!!!
I am a self-confessed hoarder - I just KNOW the minute I throw something out or give it to charity I WILL need it!! And yet I still keep buying more and more. Especially bargains, I just cannot physically walk past a bargain, even if I have 20 of them at home already! It's getting really bad and quite honestly I can't afford it. And like you I don't live in a mansion house, if I did it would be like the ones you see in films with rooms stuffed to the gillies with stuff!!:rotfl:
I haven't managed to Ebay yet this week as have been doing 12 hour shifts to rack up some overtime (shhhhh I'm working now!!!!) so the first day I will have chance is Thursday. I have sold 30 items this month and made over £100 so quite pleased. I have been up packaging things at silly hours of the morning when I get home from work - now officially knackered!!
Roll on Thursday when my holiday starts!
Good luck with the packing

OMG, can't believe it's been a month since I posted, and what a month!
OH Auntie had a stroke, only a mini ne but definately a 'shot across the bows'. She has fully recovered but looks very scared and frail now and as I am the only member of the family who lives and works in town and I have fairly flexible hours the bulk of her care is falling to me, running her to the doctors, cooking etc. I wouldn't mind but the way some of the medical staff talk to me is disgusting, making me really feel small when I can't bendover backwards to the extent that they want, I explain that I work and have kids but that's not good enough!!
OH has also been told that he is being made redundant from his main job at the end of January, he will only get basic redundancy pay for the 4 years he has been there
My finances don't seem to be getting any better despite my budgeting and planning and being really careful with food shopping etc.
Was pleased with myself the other day, had some candles that had burnt down and just left the shell on the outside, melted down the wax and made 3 more fairly large candles, including one in one of those 'posh' brands of coffee jar with a stopper type lid, candles like that cost about a fiver in the shops - just cost me £1 for the wick and there's loads of that left:T
Worried about affording Xmas, have already told the kids they won't be getting very much. Need to make myself ebay about 10 items a day to shift the pile upstairs and make some pennies for Xmas. The little ones are getting their rooms decorated (very much needed and I managed to pick up plenty of that £2 paint in various colours) have got long 2 x voile curtains and 2 x matching bedside lamps for £12 the lot in the sales. I have finished painting the hall, stairs and landing but still to finish waxing the staircase.
Off to do some ebaying as I probably won't do any tomorrow as I will be working a 13 hour shift!
Night all

Well the ebaying is going well, sold 22 items this week and netted over £130!, all items of clothing and shoes that were either brand new or hardly worn. Started everything at 99p to avoid listing fees.:money:
Got another 50 odd items listed this weekend with the free listing offer so fingers crossed will make a bit more.
Just got my final payslip before Xmas which was a little bit more than I though:j still panicing about Xmas though. Will be eating out of the freezer this month to save pennies and make space for Crimbo goodies (mostly homemade).
Still not buying toiletteries and will deffo be ok now as I know I will get more for Xmas! Bathroom cabinets still seem to be full despite me whittling it down all year.
Have made a start on the kids rooms this weekend, DD's is decorated so DS2's next weekend, it's got to be done as it is their main Xmas pressie!! I couldn't believe how marked the walls were, it looks lovely and fresh and clean now. This will mean that all 3 kids rooms have been done this year as well as hall, stairs and landing. The dining room was done end of last year and wearing well, so that's ok, lounge needs doing and so does our bedroom - desperately!! Will try and use some more of the £2 special paint for our room and a kind friend donated a huge pot of white emulsion so should be ok.
I may not be making much progress financially at the moment but at least I am SLOWLY decluttering and improving the house.
Decided on a New Years Resolution already, I am going to work through the loft and clear a box a week, either keep, charity shop or Ebay(car boot). There is too much up there and it has to go plus the money I make will help boost the coffers.
must go, dinners ready, enchilladas made from whoopsied wraps from the freezer and vege chilli from the freezer - made with homegrown veg;) almost a free dinner:rotfl::rotfl:
Night all
