as another bulker out of mince, it really does make it stretch further. And most of the time the boys don't notice either...
well done on getting organised. Nice one on getting the 0% deal.
I miss whoopsied stuff, the reductions I get over here are very poor indeed....
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Done a top-up shop today, bread, milk etc, spent £11, so in total I have spent £22 this week on food for the 5 of us. Quite pleased as this obviously means I will have some spare money to pay off bills and also we are eating through our stock of food.
Looking forward to a relaxing evening after a very busy day at work. DS1 staying at girlfriend's and DS2 on sleepover so going to have a (cheap) takeaway with DH and DD and then enjoy a bath with some of my Xmas Lush stash:j.
Tomorrow I really must finish tidying and cleaning my bedroom (the rest of the house is fairly clean and tidy) and have promised to do some baking with DD. Will also try and take DD1 for another spin in his car.
Have a great evening all.

So just had my bath, lovely. Used up 2 more toilettries, body wash and hair dye.
Refilled the foam handwash dispenser half value baby bath (20p for 500ml) and half water, makes a lovely, thick creamy foam, smells lovely and dead cheap.;)
Off to bed in a mo as absolutely knackered!

Ok, so tonight we had a lovely steak and kidney stew which has been cooking all day in the slow cooker, just chucked in some dumplings when I got home. This has used up the bendy carrots and parsnips from the fridge plus swede (which we don't ususally eat) and the meat was in the freezer. There is enough for tomorrow night too. Last night was bacon and mushrom pasta, using up the past their best mushrooms in the fridge. Also made an apple and apricot crumble which has lasted 2 nights.
Used up 3 more toiletteries so up to 13 so far this year.
So all in all not a bad week so far, spent £4 in co-op yesterday and £15 in Morrisons today so hopefully won't need to spend much more this week, have the meal plan done to use up stuff we all ready have so fingers crossed.

Hi, Just popping in to say thanks for the tip on the hand wash dispenser, will definately use that one.
I have gathered up all the make up and toiletries scattered all round my house, and I am determined to use them all up before I buy any more. Is it only me who has a selection of foundation in the wrong shade? I am using it up by mixing a bit from two to make the right shade (or near enough!) and I have about 6 different tubes/tubs of hand cream so that should keep me going for the rest of the year.Sealed pot Challenge 2011 member No 1241 - Final total £154.21

Hi Trixie, Claudiac and Bluejeans (wondered where you had got to?).
Thank you all for reading my mad ramblings. I find keeping this diary really helps as I can look back on how well I am doing and have a good old rant when things go wrong. This is a fantastic website, so many useful tips and everyone is very supportive of each other.
We had left over stew and dumplings for dinner, always taste better the next day.
Day off tomorrow. Will go and see my little lady and then tackle my own house work. Just read what I acheived last Thursday, will have to see if I can at least meet that this week. If its sunny I will strip the beds, if not will leave til the weekend. My bedroom is clean and tidy now, finished that on Saturday but need to tackle the kids' bedroom, probably do that this Saturday as I doubt I will have time tomorrow.
Anyway I'm off to bed now as I have worked 2 shifts today and am tired. Need to be up bright and early to get kids organised in the morning!

Hey 321,I so agree with stew tasting better on day 2, same for me with bolognese and chilli, they always taste so much better too - ( i won't mention the leftover freezing cold pizza tasting so much better the next day )
We all had various leftovers tonight, so managed to use up leftover bolognese sauce with rice for the kids ( i don't know why they wanted rice rather than pasta but hey if they're gonna eat it i'm not gonna argue!!) OH had freezer meatballs and rice and i ended up with egg fried rice (free on SW green plan which i am allegedly following, will see how strict i've been on weigh in day Monday )
I've been out and about today, so other than regular squirt of bleach down the loo's, dishwasher and washing gurgling away and a quick sweep of the wood floors (OH on nights at the mo, so he would strangle me if i started hoovering - lol!!) didn't do an awful lot , i've thought about doing quite a lot of bits and bobs that didn't quite happen but i guess it's the thought that counts:rotfl:xx

Hi Trixie,
Well done using up all of those leftovers - it feels like you have fed everyone for free doesn't it 'cause you might have thrown that food away.
I know what you mean about not been able to hoover with OH working nights, my ex worked nights for a while and it was a complete nightmare, felt like I had to keep the kids silent or out of the house all day and he seemed to hear the slightest thing, couldn't even unload the dishwasher!!
Had a busy week this week, looking forward to the weekend, working 2 shifts again today so will finish at about 10pm. Got to pick kids up at 3.30pm, take DD to school disco 4-5pm and collect DS2 from his residential course from another school at 4-4.30 - Think I need to clone myself!! Day off yesterday, went to see my Little Lady, got home did our washing, stripped the bed, hoovered and mopped floors, cleaned the bathroom, had parents evening for DD and made a quick pasta bake for dinner.
Right off to work
