Fraudulent Calls

I am being slowly driven mad by constant calls from this number
008080044489 which on having a search appears to be a fraudulent company posing as Vodafone would you like an upgrade/different package etc (Vodafone has has 1 less 0 in their number and have confirmed it is NOT them)
I have not answered any of these calls and contacted Vodafone who in their usual useless fashion A don't know how they have sensitve data on their callers and B want me to fill in a call log each time this happens which eventually will get passed on the the relevant dept.
I am sick of these calls, I get them 4-5 times a day every bloody day for the last week or so and I want them stopped.
I am a member of the TPS and I wondered if anyone has any helpful advice.
Many Thanks!

Answer once, tell them you aren't interested and politely ask them not to ring back or you'll take legal advice. If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

Thank you, however I'm not answering as I am currently abroad and it will cost me a fortune to tell them to sod off! Apparently some of the calls are silent and once answered they reverse the charges.
Any other ideas?0 -
You could always put your phone on silent until you get home, I suppose. At least you wouldn't be annoyed by the constant ringing then.
You can't make a reverse charges call without the other person agreeing to accept it first, by the way.If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

Just Google the number, its a well known scam !
Have bit of fun, keep them talking for ages, hand the phone to the nearest 5 year old, tell the dog to bark, tell them to hold you have a call on another line then play some music through anything available to the mike on the hand set, put it on speaker and all have laugh !

I think what OP means is that if you answer the phone whilst abroad, you pick up a bill. Irrespective of if it is an 0800 or not.0 -
Hi Charlene30
Sorry to see that you are getting these nuisance calls, it is always frustrating when I get these at home.
As we are not able to bar individual numbers, it is hard to block these calls.
While you are abroad I wouldn't answer the call as you will get charged for roaming.
When you are back in the UK, I would answer, don't give any information to them and then ask to be removed from the calling list.
Regards
Martin
