i remember viking from the pre internet age, you used to get an A4 catalogue through the post with alarming regularity, always had the white haired chairman called ian on the front holding that particular month's special offer, good marketing, had a few bits and bobs off em over the years

Thanks but your email address doesn't help as dave-the-dog wouldn't be able to help as he didn't edit my post. That was done by the MSE moderator.:)

If I wanted to, I would escalate to [EMAIL="martyn.lewis@mse.com"]martyn.lewis@mse.com[/EMAIL] but, in this case, I do not feel a need to escalate as I fully accept the MSE moderator's editing of my posting. More than happy with it thanks.

Yes, I think his name was Ian Helford. (Are you being diplomatic when you mention his hair without mentioning that he was obviously not the first owner of it?)

Anyway, it was sold to Office Depot a number of years ago and they kept the name.

I still use them and they still do the big catalogue.
