Direct Payments 'nicked' out of account - any advice?

Options
I had a problem on the GIOL board yesterday when a disability and debt related post popped up. It obviously needed moving, but I wasn't sure where it was best placed. Eventually I plumped for DFW, as the underlying problem was debt and I know many of the DFW'ers are multi-skilled.

However, the presenting problem was that Barclays/Barclaycard have removed what I believe are Direct Payments from a bank account to pay a Barclaycard debt. So I thought some people on here might have expertise in this. It seems outrageous to me!

The thread is here, if anyone is kind enough to have a look. Probably best to respond in the original thread? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

I have responded, but what the bank have done is legal. Unless the money has been ringfenced in advance, the bank has no regard as to where the money has come from or where it is intended to go to.
    Gone ... or have I?
