I am disabled due to an accident that I had with a horse 2 years ago. sadly for me things are getting worse and I now need an operation on my neck. wish that was my only problem.

When I was able bodied fine fit and healthy I had a credit card, but after my accident I had no income and could not pay the outstanding amount. I told barclay card but they didn't care.

I now have carer which is being paid for by the local authority and they put my carers wages into a second account that they told me to open.

today I checked the balance to see if my carers wages had gone in. To my horror her monthly wages had gone in and barclaycars took the lot..

I am in a terrible state as I cannot pay her and don't know. What to do. My only income is incapacity benefit and dla. I am also. Worried that the local council will think that I have embezzled the money by paying barclaycard, however they took it without my consent.

I am worried and frightened of the consequences so much I don't know what to do. Plus the fact I now have no money what so ever to pay my carers wages and Im sure she needs her wages

Is there anyone who could give me some advice please. I am in such a state that after the last two years Ive just really had enough with life full stop. :(

One last thing have I posted this on the correct board if not would someone please redirect me thanks

  • You're asking in entirely the wrong place, we know about abusing the goodwill of online bookies, not much about benefits/banking issues. The Citizens Advice Bureau should be able to help...

She's disabled so it could be tricky for her to use the forum. May as well keep it on the first page and pretend it's on the right board until it is moved.

Puts gubbings and bookie bashing into perspective anyhow.

She's physically disabled not mentally, unless you were being a tool

Not all physically disabled people find it easy to use a mouse and/or keyboard. Let's not go off-topic.

Well, looks as though she came to the right place for a sympathetic ear. :)

Fair enough, but she managed to write a long "well" written thread, so your comment was toolish

I can't believe you're going to go into this...It was just a guarded poke so people didn't complain about this being on the wrong board.

    Bumpity bumpity bump.

If you talk to your bank again and explain like you have explained here they perhaps will temporally suspend the payments and maybe give you the money to pay for the carer.

My advice is to contact the bank again or get someone to contact them. Banks aren’t that unreasonable if your situation is how you described.

Also as other have said wrong part of the forum for this sort of thing. it can however help you get a bit of extra income to pay off the credit card if you so wish

And to play devils advocate you now know how Barclaycard feel about you not paying them back!
