What LED TV?

Want to buy a new tv to go on the wall in our kitchen. Have looked at various options (LCD/LED) and found LED to be much thinner (though a bit more expensive). Seems the Samsung UE32C400 has good reviews. Can anyone tell me is this any good should we go for full hd instead of just HD ready and is it worth the money for the thinner LED for the wall or do some LCD's look just as good???

I find the colours on my LED are far better than on my last LCD, its a lot more vivid and the black is very black. I suppose it really comes down to how much you watch tv and what you use it for. i.e. are you a film buff or nature lover, sports fan.
If its yes to some of the above then I'd go full HD, but thats just my opinion.IVA Completed - 2010"Wine for my men, we ride at dawn"960 -
If you are talking about a 19" TV or similar (unless people are now installing 42" in their kitchens as well), then you're really not going to be able to see any difference between HD Ready and Full HD-that generally requires 32" and upwards.
My SIL has a TV in her kitchen, it's always on but I don't think I've ever noticed her actually watching it -it just seems to be background noise. No free lunch, and no free laptop

It is a 32" TV we are looking at (we have a big kitchen) no need for gaming (we do not own one) Just to watch not just background (the children can watch it while I am in the kitchen. Just need to know are there any out there better then the samsung for the money and is LED better then LCD (inc the slim measurement)0

I think that the only advantages of LED sidelight which most are (full array led backlight TVs being very expensive) are thinness and power consumption.
I have just bought a 37in led Panasonic but to be honest the picture quality on the equivalent LCD was on a par.
What is the difference between full HD and HD ready I’m not sure I would say my TV is full HD as it has built in freeview HD and is 1080p. I’m not sure your kids would notice the difference on a 32inch TV anyway.0 -
The screens are the same, both are LCD screens. The only difference is in the backlight. One is lit with small fluorecent tubes and the other with LEDs. So Jokers assumption that his LED has deeper blacks and more vivid colours has nothing to do with LEDs. He just has a better LCD panel in his new TV.and is LED better then LCD (inc the slim measurement)0
