my bedroom is about15ft x 11ft.its taken me 3 hours to heat my bedroom upto 21degrees?it has a standard single radiator. considering its been cold, should it take this long to heat up? it has 2external facing walls a semi detached.also the radiators in the upstairs bedrooms are on the walls opposite the windows.
which one of the following would you do...
buy a double radiator to replace the single one?
buy curtains to keep draft out?
buy a oil filled radiator to heat room up faster.even though electric bill might be heavier?

First 2 or put rad under the window.
Note that rads are normally only sized for a bedroom to reach 18c.0 -
Well curtains would certainly be a start, especially there is no double glazing.
Does the rad need bleeding or balancing maybe? Does it get hot all over?
Does it have a TRV, if so is this fully open?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Bedrooms are not normally heated to 21degrees unless you are needing to live in it - ie - bedbound
Thicker curtains, draft excluder's and if you are needing to sit in the room for long periods - say doing homework and you are feeling cold at 18degrees, an oil filled rad to supplement as and when0
