Advice needed, Threats to cut off.
Hello I was wondering if anyone can give me any advice.
I moved into a new build in april, right away I got hold of a payment card with southern electric and paid money in weekly.
My statements from the company show i've paid £90 infront and I felt I was doing well.
In may I got a bill asigned to a company, they are the ones that build the house it was for £68.
My first move was the builder/council and they said they would pay their bill.
few weeks later another demand, So I rang southern electric and they were pretty clueless, they sent round a man to have a look?? he said it'll be sorted.
Weeks later another demand, I rang southern electric the man who came didnt exist, another man was sent, said the same as before, and then again another demand and yet a 3rd man came.
So with this third bloke I spoke to him alot about the problem and he said I will be cut off over time and if he's the one doing it he will refuse. when the next letter came southern electric refused to admit anyone came.
Over this time Ive had many meter readers visit, told them the situation they didnt seem interested.
In the next phone call we asked for someone higher up and spoke to him.
We then recieved a letter saying they see the account of the builders isn't mine and sorry for the experience please call me.
Rang southern electric, HE DOES'NT EXIST!
now a week ago I get another letter, final deman with an extra £70 on my bill for the last 3 months, ofcourse ive already paid that on my account. Because of the solar panels my bill is alot less.
This new letter is "to the tennant" but still connecting it to the builder is the post code, they had their own when building the houses.
Im starting to feel pretty ill about the situation, I have 2 children aged 5 and 4 and I dont want one day to find my electrics been cut off or a card meter with the builders debt on.
Anyone from the company on the phone just doesnt understand and any person who comes to read the meter say "dont ask me" and go on to say the company workers arn't "all there"
I don't think I can change electric company's as they are connected to the solar pannels? my (My account) bills are only something like £18 for 3 months so im quite happy with the prices.
Any advice would be perfect.

Hi chaszzz - From your post I gather that you are being chased for the cost of power used by the Builders before you took over the property
That letter you received from SE signed by the mystery man who's name they say they don't know -
GUARD IT WITH YOUR LIFE as it's the key to resolveing the problem.
Forget the phone calls to SE's Service Desk, you must WRITE a letter headed Complaint -just like that in bold- setting out the history and enclosing a copy of that letter0
