money in minus money out = profit
If its a minus number its a loss
Make sure ALL your legitimate business expenses are included. Dont shun away from showing a loss.
% of phone bill if legitimate
% of car use
% of mobile / internet / gas / elec
wet weather clothing
shoe leather
the list goes on.....
any legitimate business expenses can be shown as a loss.
make sure you have considered working tax credit etc.0 -

Remember that items are only tax deductible if they are wholly and exclusively for the use of the business, so whilst phone calls may be acceptable, shoe leather certainly is not and any clothing would only be so if it was not used at any other time. Don't make it more difficult than it needs to be.Gone ... or have I?0 -
no problem Pusscat, Avon isn't particularly interesting
I must say that since the new changes have come about in the benefit system recently, I have no idea what we are entitled to and what we are not. To be honest I am at present appealing against a decision for dla, I have been taken from higher rate to none. I suffer from brain damage, arthritis in my spine, hips and knees and numerous other conditions and just cannot seem to get my head around all the changes!0 -
A friend of mine has advertised that she is having an Ann Summers party on Facebook. She is on Income Support. I take it the rules would be the same for her as well?0

The Ann Summers agent needs to declare herself to HMRC (as does the OP and her husband) but the friend who is just a party hostess doesn't.0 -

was this by HMRC? I'm assuming as your husband was being paid above the personal threshold before he was made redundant so should have been registered with HMRC then.0 -
no before my husband was made redundant he was only on stat sick pay for the Parkinson's, his consultant said, as mine does that we can do a little work. I realise that we have not been doing the correct thing, but please remember that we are both ill and don't always understand what is expected of us. We both get confused with all the form filling and don't know where to go for help. I am beginning to think that its hardly worth bothering with.0
