  • can anyone help me??

This is a really long post but so much has happened ......

Since March I have been receiving letters to my address in two other peoples names. We have lived here for over forty years. My daughter opened the first letter and it was from a Bank about a rather large unauthorised overdraft we went down to the local branch and they promised to sort it and we would hear nothing more. Since then we have had loads of letters from mobile phone companies, insurance companies etc I call then as I can see from the logo on the letter who it is from and they advise me to open them. it looks as though someone is opening accounts, changing the address to mine and then buying iphones etc and racking up huge bills. Every time i have called up the companies and they have marked their records. I know I cant discuss details under data protection but i give them info. The problem i have now is that the bank as above has not sorted the problem and has put the debt onto a solicitor and debt collector, ive been calling them for months to tell them they are wrong and I can prove how long we have lived here but whilst they accept this they say they cannot change the details as they are the only ones they have, they got the info from a credit checking firm ! I called the credit checker who I subscribe to myself and they said that they cannot change the address or make a note as we could move from here and this person could move in and then the details would be correct (!!!). In each call I have been advised I have nothing to worry about as the debt is not in my name but i have stressed that :

1 they keep using my address and wont change it
2 they are now threatening legal action against this person which may result in bailiffs
3 if they appoint bailiffs to seize goods to the value of the debt whose address are they going to call at - mine !!!

Im really worried an official will call at my address when i am not in and my children have to deal with them

Ive called the police but as there has been no crime against me they are not interested

    any suggestions ???
