    [Storage charges]

    I wouldn't recommend that.

You'd be very unlikely to get anything for storage if the case went to court unless you could show that it had actually cost you money (or you are a storage business) and it could well put her back up. It will only make you look foolish if you try it on and she knows what's what.

In these circumstances it's best to do what you can to get a nice, smooth resolution, unless you know things are going to turn out nasty and you want to go for broke.

hmmm, now you got me thinking to send her an email stating that!-i never really thought about storage charges. So the item now is legally hers (phew) lol, i don't sell much on ebay, it's just so typical of me to bump into this sort of awkward buyer.

has anyone got any suggestions what to put in the email?

Well you are having to look after it whilst she comes up with the final payment. That's your time, your land etc etc. it's all quite reasonable. :rotfl:
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

I don't think my example would be an unreasonable approach to take.

Sure, it's unlikely that you'll ever get any storage fees off them... but hinting that you will charge will give them pause for thought. If you give them a couple of days to comply that will allow them to think hard, get over their numptiness and pay up.

Failing that, just close the dispute, give them a strike and refund their cash. Personally, I'd be counting the hours til that tick on the dispute panel show up, I wouldn't be bothering to reason with such an idiot - they're the kind of buyer we could all well do without.
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

thanks everyone for the advise, it really has cleared my head about things, i will be using the letter template thanks to frivolous_fay. can't wait till all this is over
  • Did you get lots of bids for the bike? The only reason I ask is because if you did then I would refund her money and let someone else have it. On big or heavy items I always put "collection only" then if people do want to arrange for a courier they do it themselves. People often say "I really want this but cannot collect what shoul I do?" I always tell the to contact parcelforce with both postcodes and the approx weight and size and leave it to them.
