Hi Everyone,
Does anyone have any pearls of wisdom on the renewable heating initiative, and how it will apply to bio fuels. How will it work? How does one find a supplier? How does it compare to an air source heat pump? Any recommendations?
We spent over £2000 on oil last year. it's not good for the planet or my impoverished bank balance. Any help would be very gratefully received, because my digging on the net is getting nowhere.

Why is it not good for the planet?
What is all that oil under the ground for but for us to take it out of the ground and use it
Is that not why it was put in the ground in the first place, somewhere to store it until the human race became advanced enough to make use of it?
Same with coal, it was put there so that we could dig it up and use it to fuel power stations to get electricity so that we could have a better quality of life instead of living in cold damp caves.
Uranium, what is it useful for? To power power stations to make electricity.
Everything on the earth is there for a purpose, why is it there if not to use?
All this crap about global warming is just crap, they even changed the name to climate change. What next? not enough CO2 in the atmosphere, the next ice age is coming, burn more coal.0 -
Noted. However, if someone could provide an informative reply tothe post I would very much appreciate it.

Something else will turn up. Have you not heard of frozen methane?
there is at least 2x as much gas hydrate trapped in the permafrost and ocean floors as all the coal, oil, and natural gas combined.
You don't think something went to all this trouble to build an earth and populate it then let us destroy it do you?0 -
Harder to mine...drill...recover.......more expensive fuels.....why don't we use what reserves we have more thoughtfully and at the same time harness what is free! My grandchildren would like a chance to be able to afford to eat food and survive!!There are three types of people in this world...those that can count ...and those that can't!

No one can give you accurate advise as the current government have not yet released details of how they propose to run the scheme. The previous government announced proposals and invited consultation but were booted out before they announced a response. The original RHI proposals suggested annual payments for 10-20 years for selected renewable systems based on the deemed annual energy requirement. This was to be funded by a levy on gas heating in the first instance, eventually to include oil. The scheme was to run by OFGEM. The latest info that has been released stated that the scheme is now to be funded by the treasury to the tune of £860 million for five years? What has happened to the 10 to 20 year annual payment proposals is unclear similarly which technologies are to be supported is also unclear.0
