Sellers-Whats your average number of viewings??

Comments

  • We had maybe 2-3 a week when selling. I was onto the EA at least once a week to make sure they were doing all they could to get viewings. It is getting a bit close to Christmas now, I certainly wouldn't want to start looking now, I'd wait until January.
  • We accepted an offer in early December 2009. It had gone on the market in July 2009 and we had one failed sale in that time.

I guess we must have had around 20-25 viewings in all?
:o Trying to become debt free but this site makes me spend a fortune!!! :o

My feeling is that the housing market is not in a normal or an average state at the moment, so you can't judge what is happening by what has happened in past years. In the papers, there seems to be a general concensus that the Christmas slowdown has started early, and first time buyers might be waiting to see if the market falls significantly, so it doesn't seem that surprising that you haven't had much interest in two weeks. And if there is nothing to tell, it isn't unusual for EAs to go very quiet! But if you are concerned, there is absolutely no harm in phoning up your EA for a chat, and see what their take on the situation is.

Ours hasn't had any viewings for a while now. Been on since March, 2 fell through.

Admittedly, it's my parents home. They divorced a few years back, and agreement was it was to be sold when my sister moved out. That was engineered by the father, with them lying to the council that she'd been kicked out.

Not overly fussed on it, and neither is my ma. Gives me more time to save a deposit, at £20,000 right now.
  • Nothing at all for first 5 weeks, then 2 viewings in 2 weeks.

New on the market, 2 weeks on fri. Nothing in the way of viewers .....

Its target FTB house on at 110K x

...and who's having the most difficulty getting mortgages at the moment?

    First-time buyers.

Surely you must have realised this before putting it on the market? It's been all over the press and in the media.......

AVERAGE time on the market in my postcode has risen to 376 days acording to http://www.home.co.uk/
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

Fully aware. Its a question to find out approx viewings. I was meerly giving my situation details to people to be polite.
I have researched my area in depth and know properties of simlar are selling, slowly of course but they are coming through.

I am also target to small families and downsizing, all irrelevant to my question though x
