Transport Stream

We have a very old Panasonic Sky box which has been excellent up until this week. Sometimes when I change channel we now lose the signal and when I check the signal test the transport stream numbers have changed fro their usual 07d4 figure. The only way to get back is to unplug the box and start again. The programs come back as normal - until it happens again. Is my box on its way out? What is the transport stream anyway?

Yes, the box is faulty. There used to be a fix for this fault, called a "Panafix2d filter", but it's no longer sold.
I believe that "transport stream" is synonymous with "multiplex".
