Here's a link to a pdf of the descriptors and the scoring..ah apparently I'm too new to post links, but I found it on disabilityalliance.org I can't stress enough how valuable familiarising yourself with them will be if you are waiting to attend a medical assessment. It was only afterwards that I saw them and realised that I had not done myself any favours in the original assessment due to not fully understanding what the assessor was getting at with certain questions and I ended up rescoring my entire assessment myself in preparation for the tribunal.
Hello,
I am confused. I had my assessment and answered the questions and gave examples based on the truth. I didn't know anything about these descriptors. I failed.
I appealed and won my case (Nov 2010) at the Tribunal based only on what I said (I offered no evidence from anybody). Again I knew nothing about these descriptors.
I was placed in the work group.
I have just sent back another ESA50 which I received yesterday, and already had another medical arranged in December for the 4th Feb.
In your posting you say it would have made a difference if you had known about the descriptors at your assessment as if you had, you would have answered differently. How on earth can you do that if you just tell them the truth?
You can't change the truth by knowing the decriptors or can you?
Do these descriptors have anything to do with the points that you get after the assessment that you appeal against?
All I have done again is the same as I did before. I ticked the boxes that applied to me on the ESA50 and will tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth as I am required to the assessor..
Maybe I haven't done myself any favours then.0
