Help with London 2 4 1's please

Yes, you need a ticket each.I guess the anytime single from Waterloo East to Charring Cross will be the best bet - does the ticket not have to be TO the venue that you want to visit? I think I'm right in saying we need one each to get the 2 4 1?
Think about it, you could be visiting several places anywhere in London, so any ticket with a destination anywhere in London is OK.
Buy the tickets before you leave home if you like... at your local station.0 -
How many train tickets are required per voucher?
Whilst you will only have one London Attractions voucher between 2 people, both people need to hold valid train tickets for the day of their visit.
I just copied that from the website so I think I'll get two of the single £2 tickets.0 -

Someone posted earlier on I think, that if you're using Advance Single tickets (because they are usually the cheap ones) you have to show the ticket you used to get there AND the other single ticket that you're using to get back.
It looks like you need to show a full journey, so you'll need either one return, or two singles, per person - think as though you were coming from the place you're buying the "from" train ticket and then getting the train back home to there at the end of the trip.
Also don't forget to make sure you get the return journey ticket back off the attraction office staff.0 -

No. A single ticket is acceptable, and will be valid at the attraction on the same day that the ticket is valid. It looks like you need to show a full journey, so you'll need either one return, or two singles, per person - think as though you were coming from the place you're buying the "from" train ticket and then getting the train back home to there at the end of the trip.
Good advice. Also don't forget to make sure you get the return journey ticket back off the attraction office staff.

You only need to show both Advance single tickets if your visiting the attraction in between the dates on those tickets.
If your travelling down by train and back by coach/plane/car then the Advance single is only valid for the date of the ticket. Also don't forget to make sure you get the return journey ticket back off the attraction office staff.
Lol, a good point, but every time I've used the 2 for 1's the attendant just looked at the ticket.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -
Thanks everyone, not sure I want to go on the eye that badly. It's getting complicated!!!!0

So we'll be staying in Surrey in Jan and will travel by train to London two days to see some attractions. If I buy the ticket on the day at the departure station will that get me the two for one entries? I'm finding it all a bit confusing, not being used to the England transport network.
Thanks

Yes it will - as long as you buy the ticket at a rail station - which if you are in Surrey is virtually certain. Where will you be travelling from?0 -
Ok cool, so don't book in advance? It's from Weybridge. I'll probably get the 'all zones' travelcard with it.. I assume that won't affect my 2 for 1's?
Thanks DZug

An off peak all zone travelcard from Weybridge is £14.90 a head (currently - it will probably go up in January) and is exactly what you need for the 2 for 1. Buy on the day.0
