Hey Money Saving Experts.
I’ve recently moved into a house, and want to get the internet set up. Trouble is, I haven’t even sorted out the phone yet. I’m after getting the cheapest line rental, and then a either a budget dial-up provider, or a BB supplier that doesn’t require a twelve month contract, as we only have a six month deal on the house.
My housemate is with Orange for her mobile, but only for another 5 months or so, and she wants out of her contract anyhow. I understand its best to go with BT option1 (We have little intention of using the LL, and if we do we’ll use a by-pass 18 number)
Looking in the articles and things, I’m swayed by the payg dial-up packages, but tiscali is expensive in the evenings, which is no good. Has anyone got any good advice?

Try https://www.nildram.co.uk they are a good BB provider at reasonable prices. You will have to pay an installation fee and buy the router / modem but that is yours to keep and you then pay monthly and can cancel at any time
They score highly in customer service terms and I have been delighted with them since installing in May 2005John0 -
There are quite a few firms do monthly including Zen, ID Net, Namesco and I think F2S. You'd be advised to check out the forums at:

You might also want to have a look at both dial-up and BB top 10 at:

Thing with monthly is, as stated above, because they can't rely on getting your money longer term connection and equipment charges usually apply, although you can supply your own of the latter.0
