I found that Scottish power was the cheapest through out the years..

They didn't come up on my comparison results... Or if they did, they were low down.

I am on british gas websaver 4 for electric only and am being put on standard on the 10th Dec have gone with npower online 20 for electric only as it said a saving of £76 a year even if they put it up i cannot see me being worse off. Have stopped with Atlantic for my gas as the savings were not that much will see when all the others go up then change my gas

How do you know Npower are going to rise by the same?

I don't, but npower would have to have a huge increase to be more expensive than what I will pay with BG. The comparison sites say that I will save over £100 on pretty low consumption, plus £50 cashback. npower may not be the cheapest supplier overall after they raise their prices, but I will still be better off switching than staying with BG.

The comparison sites are still using BG's current prices right, not the higher ones (ie: the comparison is between BG pre-raise vs npower pre-raise)?
Shouldn't be, as any contract you agree with BG through the site would be on the new prices.
When comparing your year ahead, obviously they will be using the new prices not the old.
  • but what happens when npower stick their rates up next week? at least your bg payment stay in britian - npower take all the cash back to germany

ive just been reading who's cheapest in mu area - edf are more expensive than bg. npower are cheapest but id rather pay an extra 30 quid and a back british and not stick my cash into euros

are ovo british? hey seem cheap to

    1. Not true. Most of it goes to the same networks, gas producer, and electric generator. When you factor in salaries, overhead and tax, how much is actually leaving the country?

    2. BG's largest shareholder is an American company based in Georgia.
