Vodafone 12month "no phone" contract

As a voda customer I know what a nightmare their CS team is. It may not be any help but their Stores seem to tell you what you want to hear.
.
Other companies will let you. For instance the company I work for will let you go from 30days>12month sim only>full 18/24month contracts just starts you in from a new commitment date for minimum term on the day you upgrade.
They allow you to do this on the basis it doesn't cost them any money and they keep the customer longer. So if you want to cancel with us and you're in a 12 month simonly you have to wait till the end. But if you want to upgrade to a full contract we allow you to do it anytime within the 12months at no cost because it doesnt cost us and we keep you as a customer longer.0 -
Thanks Heretic - I could understand it if I'd had a new phone - they have to recover the cost somehow - but as the phone is now about 4years old that was paid for years ago!
Forgot to add, if I upgraded online it appears that they would also add the "extra" time outstanding to the contract, but that might be me just reading it wrongly.0 -

As I said I fined it odd they would do this. At the end of the day you're upgrading to a full contract and longer commitment so inturn they actually keep you longer as a customer. Now with this poor experince you're likely to leave for another network at the end of your 12months.0 -
My feelings exactly, which is why I'm surprised no-one seems to want to do anything about it.0
