Although some have electronic controls a great number have a second circular control on the opposite corner of the bath which controls the flow rate through the jets.
OK if I used my eyes t'would be useful! :) What I refer to above is probably the two silver/chrome controls in the middle of the edge of the bath nearest the room.

In amplification of Post 11 it should be noted that 50Hz AC can have a nice tendency to unscrew connection screws if they are not tightened up properly. Seeing the high quality work associated with the JB install makes me wonder if the connections are, in fact, tightened up properly and that might be why it won't work. Turn off power before you look though AND test for dead.

  • I bet he disconnected it when he took out the wiring for the immersion heater. ;)

Could be but I think it looks much too thin for Immersion Heater flex.

    No keystone.

The person who installed the combi took the immersion out & that is what the pump was spurred in from.......
    ;)

I had a new combi boiler fitted, 4th Oct, and this is the first time I've used the bath - do you think this has had an affect?

Ah yes - misunderstood you and I see what you mean but what I meant was that the grey flex goes to the pump and the white one is presumably the feed and the white one isn't immersion heater flex.

But if was spurred from that supply and the whole of that circuit was removed into the airing cupboard then you would be 100% correct. However OP suggests that the pump makes a click when he operates on/off so that might imply it has got some volts - unless its just the on/off SW clicking. Howevere seeing as how the bath hasn't been used (ewww - I hope he means just the whirlpool bit!!! :D) since the boiler was fitted your premise seems attractive.

Everything workings ok now. I checked the loft before I went to work this morning and the switch had gone off.

    Thanks for all the replies

@keystone - I hardly have baths, never mind filling a bath with hundreds of litres to reach the jets, I'm more of a shower person;)

I remember the previous owner saying that if I ever had problems with the electrics for the bath a switch would trip near the inside of the loft entrance. The switch is just a normal one screwed into a back box. The owner was an electrician...
