Just try easing it out from the base at one end using a blunt instrument, any damage to the edge there won't show. Make sure it hasn't been siliconed into place first though.

You either need to push down (fingers in gap between bath and panel) so that it springs out or put a screw driver underneath it so it lifts up and out.

There will be some clips fixed to the floor into which the bottom edge clips. The top edge will normally be tucked under the rim of the bath but you may find there are clips up there as well. Macman is spot on.

Silicone is on the right hand wall.

Well spotted. OP - cut through it with a stanley knife to release then clean up the panel and tiles separately before refixing.

    Thanks for the replies.

I did what macman suggested and it worked. Now I don't suppose any of you know whats wrong with the whirlpool bath?

I press the button but the jets do not work. I hear a click on the pump but nothing happens.

I had a new combi boiler fitted, 4th Oct, and this is the first time I've used the bath - do you think this has had an affect?
The electrician was turning things off/on, but on the fuse box nothings tripped.
  • HI.

Is there a switch in a cupboard somewhere, backing onto the bath?
    It would be RCD protected.

A click on the pump sort of implies that there are volts to it and if the pump is under the bath (which is almost inevitable with one of these) then it will be out of zone. However, check as CH says that the RCD didn't trip and also check that the sparky hasn't also fitted a two pole isolator outside the bathroom which is currently switched off.

Although some have electronic controls a great number have a second circular control on the opposite corner of the bath which controls the flow rate through the jets. If thats not turned on then the pump will click but nothing much will happen. Depending on your make I could, of course, be off the wall with this comment.

I found this under the bath, any idea what it is?
I think there is something in the loft to do with the electrics to bath. I'll have to check it out tomorrow.
    Thanks for the replies.

Yes its a 30A junction box. Not unusual for a sparky to connect the flying lead from the pump to the supply cable in this way as, as stated, under the bath is out of zone. However, it should be screwed down to the floorboards and I don't like the insulating tape apparently keeping the top on and the mains feed looks suspiciously like flex to me which is naughty. So a poor installation TBH.
