It does not matter what supplier or tarrif you put into the comparison sites.

All you need is your yearly usage in kWhs.

If the first supplier on the list is cheaper than what you are paying, change, if not don't.

I am on e.on fixonline8 and if I put in my details I am told that the cheapest supplier, at present, for me is EDF at £120 dearer than e.on.

However if I put my present supplier as BG on their standard tarrif it says that EDF will save me £50 and yet BG is at present dearer than what I am paying e.on

Yet both comparisons say for my usage I will pay £1200.

In fact if there is a default supplier already selected I don't bother changing it.

    Simple really.
  • Also just recieved bill and it states that my CE6 will be ending june 2011 only thing is do a comparison and only one provider comes out cheaper(hence why they are ending it i presume).
Also cannot find anything about an expiration date in T&c's. Can they really force me off a contract i entered into with them when it is being fulfilled.

I didnt get a letter but happened to notice it in the messages bit of online billing, now just trying to work out who to go to because Im not paying BG standard tariff rate!!!!

    Me too!
I have BG for electric, click 6 and Eon for gas paying by 'cash' every quarter, not keen on direct debits and until now no one has been able to match that combination, guess though, it is time to move on very soon :(

If the regulator have decided it and the tariff is being discontinued you haven't really got a leg to stand on though.

I wasn't even aware click was that competitive, is Websaver not cheaper?

click 6 for me was/is the cheapest option out there, I think when click1-2-3-4-5-6 closed they then launched websaver but this wasnt as good (if i remember correctly anyway)

I use click 6 for electricity and ebico for gas
