Help - Non-certified boiler!
Comments
-
Probably because he wouldn't. When we employed our second lot of builders one of the fundamentatl parts of the quote was for teh boiler to be commissioned etc as the first builders had failed to do this (trying to extort money). Despite this when it came to getting the plumber to do it he said he wasn't touching it as he would lose his license with GasSafe. Now thats complete rubbish as we phoned and asked but he still wouldn't do it.
In the end we used a local guy who has done other work for us in the past whether he would be willing to do it and after calling GasSafe and getting it OK'd by them he did the work.0 -
That may well be the case , but if you havent the paperwork ??
They can ask , they don't receive!
When our seller didn't have the necessary certificate my solicitor and I insisted the boiler be checked and a certificate be provided.
Without this certificate any buyer is unsure whether the boiler is safe. No buyer wants to find this out after the sale and have to pay for a replacement.0 -
The last time I sold a house the buyer's solicitor demanded all kind of certificates I didn't have, including a boiler certificate.
I just told him that I didn't have them and if the buyers weren't happy I would put the house back on the market.
They bought the house and I didn't supply any certificates.

Gas Work Notification came in IIRC about 5 years ago.
Load of rubbish IYAM. Not many boilers were notifed, so it all became yet another money making CORGI scam.
You have 30 days in which to register a new boiler from date of installation.0 -
Lets be fair , thats what they are required to do , thats part of the service .buyer's solicitor demanded all kind of certificates I didn't have,
ButI just told him that I didn't have them and if the buyers weren't happy I would put the house back on the market.
Correct reply .Far better for the vendor of any property to arrange to get the boiler checked out and serviced asap themselves as ultimately the safety of the boiler is in their interests ...not the selle
Best advice.
Ps don't get me started on FENSA!!0
