was told it was against the rules and to read the following as to why peoples posts keep getting deleted....

PERSONAL DETAILS AND THE OFFERING OF ITEMS FOR SALE/TRADE/EXCHANGE/SWAP/GIFTS

Please refrain from requesting the exchange of personal details either on the forum, via PM or email; particularly for the purposes of selling/trading/exchanging/swapping or giving as gifts. This includes posting links to your ebay auctions, or other forms of advertising.

If someone appears to be selling items on the board it may be deleted by the board guides/forum team. The aim is to protect site users as however honourable the intention, your safety is paramount.

  • Personally I think people who get free cinema tickets on the 'free cinema tickets' thread but are then not able to go should be able to re-post them on the same thread.

It's not like they're asking money for them - they're doing us all a favour by offering the tickets that they can't use. If we make it diffult for people to re-post their tickets then they might just not bother and the tickets will be wasted !!

Come on folks, are we having a little too much bureaucracy here

    Whaddu u fink ??

    Hiya Chris n all!
I entirely agree. In fact I have just had to be frank with someone over there on that thread cos they were a little sharp in the tounge about it.

Can an Operator please suggest the right forum/thread to post unwated tickets already obtained, please..?

If you didn't manage to get the free tickets - I would encourage you to still go - I am definitely going to go again ( and yes , PAY!!! )

I agree with Jules - this is a very good film; concise and understated yet gripping, uncomfortable in parts, and very enjoyable. Get free preview tickets if you can, if not, go and see it anyway. Oh, and if you're not into violent films, don't be put off seeing it by the cinema trailer. I was a bit apprehensive about it but it turns out they put all the conflict scenes (and little else of the film) together in the trailer and so it's not that representative of the film overall.
  • Had my post deleted on Free Cinema tickets, they only needed to leave it for a DAY. I just want to give away the following - Does it make me a bad person!? My personal details are public domain - like the yellow pages, BT.com, whois.com etc... Stalkers and groupies welcome :kisses:

I get emails from people offering showings not in my area or for films that I don't want to watch  - I take a quick look and hit delete. A small price to pay for all the great films I have seen thanks to the MSE members that do put offers up. Keep up the good work!

Offered 2 tickets for Babel - Tuesday 16th January 2007 - Odeon, Manchester, Dantzic Street. 6.00pm (for 6.30pm showing) collection from Huddersfield

Only arrived this weekend so was double booked and unable to post to anyone.

Contact details on last page or here:

  • I'd just like to say that I think you should be able to offer tickets you have got but are no longer able to use on the tickets thread and for there to be this second thread for everything else.
I would prefer there NOT to be a third thread to wade through but thats just my opinion
If we could all remember to delete our own posts when they are out of date that would really help.
I have pm'd a few people asking if they would do that - I hope my messages have not been misread as me having a moody on with them. I love MSE and especially the cinema tickets thread and sought advice from the board guides before I ever pm'd anyone about their posts.
I have to say it is very frustrating when people dont stick to the guidelines as they are there to make it easier for everyone to take up these offers.
I am very grateful to everyone who finds the codes or offers tickets and takes the trouble to post the details
  • Until now, I had no idea there was a third cinema ticket thread called FREE Cinema Tickets - I cant go, you want 'em?

    Isn't this getting silly ?

I think people's unusable tickets should be re-offered in the original 'Free Cinema Tickets' thread - after all, they are exactly that - 'Free Cinema Tickets' and not a discussion about tickets/cinemas/times or whatever !!

What do other people think ?

    I agree with Chris!!
  • I love the free cinema ticket thread and would be quite happy trawling through the chat to find the codes I now read both one after another anyway but...I can't be doing with another site on the same subject. I do find a lot of the comments on the free cinema tickets thread quite patronising and rude, everyone who contributes to both threads are giving up their time to help and inform others. I appreciate all the time that goes into it all and wish it wasn't such a contentious issue. Two threads are more than enough, I struggle to find the discussion thread as it is-its usually on one of the latter pages.
on a happier note I have finally managed to aquire tickets for myself after a lot of regections:cry: so I am off to see Notes on a Scandal tomorrow night and Rocky on wednesday-I am so excited:j
Thanks everyone for all your help. LL80:A

Why the struggle ? What's the difficulty ?

Dead easy to find it then !
