i was there too, but they didn't check us for phones, i think because we were let in so early

Was at east kilbride as well and been to a few preview screenings and never seen anything like it. 2 rock steady security guards turning off mobiles and searching bags but was well worth it as the film was the funniest thing I'd seen in ages. Talk about a fight scene, lol.
Yes and they were pretty big guys don't you think, me and my boyfriend could hardly get through them, (my boyfriend had 2 crutches) they were gonny search him but decided not to as he can't stand properly :D

I got the codes for the last two screenings at East Kilbride from the threads on here about free cinema tickets and I noticed that when i put the codes into seefilmfirst or momnumental pictures they had the EK cinema listed. I think the fact that the EK cinema was a UCI cinema until a few weeks back and has now been taken over to a Odeon cinema that might be the reason why Ek is getting screenings:D
  • Aah! The two posts have only been seperate for a day and people are already chatting in the free posts forum!
Could we make this a sticky too, so they are together like the tesco or magazine ones, otherwise this one might move down the page and people will just post on the other one!

I went to see Borat on Tuesday night, and it was excellent!

I have seen/heard so many people say that it was sick and offensive... and it soooo was! But thats why you have to have an open mind and take things in a lighthearted manner!

I went with loads of friends from work - Gay, Straight, Black, Asian... But they loved every minute of it.. and its all we can talk about all week!

Def worth seeing if you can handle a bit of wrongness! :rotfl:
  • People are still leaving general discussion messages in the new thread for 'ticket offers postings only' !!

Please note folks - this is the discussion thread and requests for tickets.

This saves people trawling through loads of general messages looking for ticket postings.

    Hope that makes sense ;)
you know when you're getting older - the wife says, "let's go upstairs and make love" and you reply, "I can't do both" !!

EK is my local cinema as well, and wish there was more free screenings there rather than glasgow quay or renfrew street. Dont think it is anything to do with it being a UCI or Odeon though, as I have been to a few when it was UCI as well, last one I remember was 'Confetti', and at that screening there was only about a dozen or so people there.

Therefore the reason I think you do not get many listings for cinemas like EK is that they are not busy enough or popular enough to fill the cinema, whereas the ones in Glasgow are a lot busier. Normally most films have a Glasgow listing, Edi listing, Aberdeen listing, which is as much as Scotland gets.

I think its only on films where they are really wanting to get some publicity for and think it will struggle at the box office they show it at loads of cinemas and thats where EK tends to get screenings!
