  • Hi
Virgin are having a lot of problems at the moment, customers complaining of very slow speeds.
Go and have a look at their forum

  • I've been with virgin for a few years now - the service was ok , but has been awful for the past month or so .

Also , I moved house on 9th October - they cancelled my account as at 7th October , and have just e-mailed me to say my broadband activation "target" date for my new house will be 25th October !!! (still in the same area , with the same phone number)

I will certainly be looking for a new ISP in the near future...

I was with them, and always had excellent service. Moved to TalkTalk just because of the price advantage. However, I know two people who've had dreadful problems with trying to be connected through Virgin in the last few weeks (both new customers), so I think the two posts above are probably quite accurate.

I must admit, I'd want very good customer service if I was moving away from a deal as cheap as TalkTalk. Has your experience really been that bad?

it has not been THAT bad, but it is often very slow and they block bit torrent ports! and the customer service is really auful (as I found out last night!!!!)

ok I might go with watrose, they seem to have a good write up, and they are £18.99 a month for up to 8meg (6 meg where I am) with 5gb allowance.
  • Just started my second year with them and they have been very good.
  • I've been with Virgin for a month now on their free broadband £15 sim deal. I thought I was being a canny consumer with this deal, but the download speeds are so appalling that it is almost unusable. I normally transfer large files and play online games -but havent been able to do either since i've been on Virgin.

I think I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and go back to EFH (Euro Fast Hosting) who though not the cheapest had an excellent service and free customer services.
  • We are with Virgin.net and the operators are uk.
No problems we are sim only.
