Tried making this on Friday and it was so disgusting, we had to go and get pizza!

I just put the chicken drumsticks in, poured the sauce on top and left it on low for 12 hours. When we came to eat it, the sauce was horrible dark brown and it all tasted sour. Yukky, had to throw it away.

What did I do wrong? Or is chicken tonight just not compatible with slow cookers?

    Hi,

I often use chicken / beef/ sausages tonight in the slow cooker and haven't had any problems.

However, I usually use quorn stuff with it and add half a jar again of water in order to stretch it to feed 7 of us. I cook it on high for 3-4 hours, in one of the big (7 litre?) slow cookers - maybe that makes a difference?

Did it get too thick? Maybe adding some extra water may make a difference?

Sorry I can't be more help.

How weird! Was googling stuff about chicken tonight in the slow cooker and found this thread from myself about 8 years ago! Have no recollection of this thought, haha.

So, I guess from my result 8 years ago, I won't try it again tomorrow. I'll just cook it like normal.

Had pulled pork in the slow cooker today and I thought it was delicious, even if my kids thought different!
