So you're looking at a tenner ETC maximum.
Just hope you don't have BT Broadband though!
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • I have just changed from BT & AOL to virginmedia package. I was out of my contract period with BT, but they are charging me for cancelling the FREE unlimited weekend calls as the 'unlimited w/end calls contract' was re-newed in June. I really don't get it, if it was FREE, why should i have to pay for it when cancelling. I have always been cautious of having a BT phone and now i see that i was right, they are just RIP OFF merchants!

BEWARE OF THE UNLIMITED WEEKEND CALLS WITH BT BECAUSE THEY PULL YOU IN WITH THE 'FREE' AND THEN STITCH YOU UP WHEN YOU WANT TO CANCEL THE CONTRACT, REGARDLESS OF HOW LONG YOU HAVE BEEN WITH THEM.

Because it is bundled in with your line rental, which is not free.

I wonder if you just used the line who would get the bill?

There will be a dial tone as the line is not physically disconnected, but unlikely that you can make calls apart from to BT.

Incidentally, can get £50.50 cashback from Topcashback on BT line only at the moment. You can also sign up and pay a year in advance with the weekend only call package and get it for £119.

Maybe Im missing something - but surely the standard base BT package including free Weekend calls is not auto renewing??
Auto renewal only applies to ANYTIME or FREE EVENINGS AND W/END packages??

    Your correct.

The Unlimited Weekend Plan does not have a minimum term, unless you order a new telephone line or switch your phone line to BT from another home phone service provider, where a 12 month minimum term applies to the line rental only.
