Need help finding a decent online broker service

They, along with some others, charge £60 for you to get your money OUT of their ISA, they hang on to it for months after you ask for a transfer, and the reports of some holdings on the site are inaccurate, (three were out, one by £1,500) "the bane of our life' "we know we have issues with them" "It is taking longer to fix than we thought" etc etc I was told by their so called 'customer services' yesterday. Anyway the FOS is dealing with my complaint about them.
I am not that keen on TD Waterhouse.0 -
I have had no problem with TD Waterhouse. They are broker of choice for many if you want to trade on overseas markets. One thing that puts me off trading US or Canadian shares directly is the costs of converting sterling to dollars and back again. This can add another 5% to the deal cost. If anyone knows the best way to reduce this I would be interested as I think Canadian resource stocks would be a good investment but the dealing costs (due to FX) are putting me off.0

If you use TD Waterhouse inside an ISA, then this will be of no use to you, but if not, then consider Interactive Brokers, be a lot cheaper than Waterhouse for US or Canadian stocks, or most likely any other market for that matter.I have had no problem with TD Waterhouse. I'm more interested in an ISA tbh. Had a quick look at Interactive Brokers reviews and it is a mixed bag though seems more geared up to the professional investor then retail investor just buying and holding a few stocks. (NB the following is a forex review)
