I must say I'm quietly chuckling at the discussion on this thread.
We bought LOTS. We heard about the glitch late and went on the hunt shortly before closing time. I had a good idea Tesco would sort it by the next morning as they are on the ball these days with glitches so went out to get what I could knowing so late in the day I wouldn't be treading on other bargain hunters toes.
First store the eagle eyed SA spotted it on my second trip through but I got 6 before they took it off the shelves. Second store had been stripped clean either by shoppers or by staff removing it. Third store had a box and a half left or there abouts so we bought the lot.
Yes a few will be flogged to friends for a quid a go to cover the petrol and I guess we'll be left with a years worth of cheese at little cost. I offer no apology to anyone for that, its called looking after my family.
As for feeling guilty about 'ripping off' Tessco, you really have to be joking! This is a company that prices things on the shelf in a confusing way to make it difficult for you to know what you are really paying for stuff ona like for like basis. This is the company where its staff can't get half the bargains, the company that railroads its plans for new tescos all over the place, and the company thats been highlighted on Watchdog or similar programs for some of its practices! Feel sorry for them?? No other supermarket has such regular pricing !!!!-ups. Reminds me of the expression 'pay peanuts, get monkeys'. Tesco are reaping what they sow.0 -
Just remember to freeze it French Knickers because I think it expires in a few months otherwise.0

Thanks. I intend to get a large tub for the freezer and grate as many blocks as will go in it. It'll be super for cooking then and we can just grab a handful as and when needed.0 -

I can't say I agree with you. The poster has made perhaps £20 profit having taken a risk by buying stock then selling it on for a small profit.
Isn't that what our nation of shopkeepers do every day?
You seem to agree that nobody has suffered.
I certainly don't feel sorry for Tesco (that would be insane). However I have seen posts by people unable to get any because shelves have been emptied by people buying more than they need and selling excess for profit. Not a life or death situation I agree, but disappointing none the less.
Shopkeepers can buy cheap from wholesalers - most of us can't. So I'm afraid I don't agree with you either - guess that's life0 -

I can't see what everyone is getting in a pickle about, if people wanted this cheese so badly they had a day or so to get to store to get some. If you didn't get there in time the I say hard cheese on your part, what goes around comes around and you will have your day when there is an offer that you get that they dont. It would be grate if we could all get every deal that Tesco or whoever has to offer but that's life, get over it whingers0 -
