Who on earth could you sell 24 blocks of cheese to?

I think someone is trying to be impressive and just fibbing really!

You could probably sell cheese to the mobile hamburger joints, the ones who go round boot sales etc.

Or just to a couple of local convenience stores, probably cheaper than they can get it for.
  • You should be ashamed of yourself, disgusting.

I think that's a little unnecessary. We don't have the full details, so shouldn't judge.

Maybe the poster is particularly hard up? Maybe that £25 in profit might be used to buy a couple of extra Christmas presents for family that they otherwise couldn't afford?

They could even be planning on giving it to charity.

I personally am planning on selling some on. I sold 4 blocks to family members today for £1 each. They have got a good deal on cheese, and the money i'm making im putting towards a fund for some volunteers who help me out once a year.

I don't really see anyone is loosing out. Only real argument could be either A. if you love Tesco and are upset by the loss of money (unlikely) or B. If you cleared out all the stock.

I agree! If you can sell on the cheese, sell on the blxxxxxxxdy cheese!! not that i'd have the time or patience, but if you have - Good luck to you!! Agree all the Big Nobbs are making a killing in profits this time of year, Why? put down or question a few small time people whom are just trying to make a few quid? Good luck to you all!!!!
  • I checked my store - Irvine - today - it had a temporarily unavailable sticker and a big empty shelf.. all the blocks will be round the back of the store then!

Yay! Let's hear it for the entrepreneur.

This guy is not ripping off the taxpayer.

He is turning a modest buck by buying product at one price and selling it for a fair profit.

    He's not on Jobseekers.

    He's not on Incapacity.

    He's not on Disability.

He's not sucking the nation dry.

    He is - working - that's good.

I don't know whether the above is true or not, but so long as this is declared income (profit) for his tax return ...:silenced:.

I am not being judgemental on people taking up glitches, but to say no one if getting hurt isn't quite true - Tesco is losing money which means it hits their profits, which means that prices will ultimately go up on other items to maintain their profit levels. From some of the discussions on here and other forums, it seems that people see Mr T or other big retailers as fair game as they make so much profit (I am sure that shoplifters use the same justification ...), but so long as it is legal then who are we to judge.

He's not making any profit, as the extra he charged, covered his petrol and time.

Its only cheese for goodness sake.

He didnt steal it, he bought it for the price tesco charged him for it, so its his to do as he pleases with it.

Tip for you mass cheese purchaser / seller, grate it up put it in bags and treble the price, you'll rake it in.

I imagine there are hundreds of people on here that do the exact same thing but dont say anything.

Thats probably why there shelves are usually always bare minutes after something like this is posted.

And for those of you worried about tesco, tesco dont worry about the customer with their constant over charging. And if tesco spend some of their £1000's a second profit on staff who are capable of updating their systems correctly and sorting out the SEL on time these sorts of things wouldn't happen.

So as far as im concerned the score stands like this:
    Tesco over charging - 1
Customer taking advantage of glitches - 1

Has no one ever wondered as to why tesco seem to be the worst offender for this? Tesco know exactly what there doing.

Asda and morrisons dont have so many over charges, glitch problems as tesco. they have decent prices in the first place most of the time.

Oh and theres plenty pf people on these boards who openly take advantage of all tesco points glitches, and openly state to buying bulk with every intention of ebaying the stuff, as they only want the points and no one shoots them down for ''making a profit''
:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!

Hang on - the poster said 'i didnt care about price' when they were looking to buy cheese. That's not the attitude of the hard up.

If it's true that they did resell the cheese, then that does go against what MSE stands for. I assume they will be declaring this profit on the tax form? I wouldn't buy cheese from someone else anyway.

However, I think they're just trying to wind us up - and succeeding :)

Biting is excellent. It's like kissing, only there's a winner.
  • I think the reason people were upset over our big cheese buyer was not because of any loyalty to Tesco or the fact that they were selling it on, it was because the person was potentially blocking other 'bargain hunters';) from accessing the glitch? I've gone dairy-free so it's no skin off my nose:D
  • Greed is still greed ... Thats why there is a word for it ..

Anyway , its funny how eveyones got so cheesed off over cheese today
