I am, I get just over £3,000 a year loan, and no grant/bursary.

So you get £380 per week and you still can't manage?

Damn you get £2k ish less than me a year, and i have 3 children, have a disability and child with disabilities also. Maybe you could visit the other boards and see how you could reduce your expediture etc for when times are hard and your not working. Also dont believe everything you read or hear in the media it oftens does not paint the correct picture ;) good luck with your studies
