A good warning for all you christmas shoppers getting xbox's for poeple: the xbox does not come with an hdmi cable which is what you need to get HD picture if you have an HDTV. The packaged AV cables are only standard definition (ie not HD) (they're the red, white and yellow plugs)
Anyway, having got several vouchers from the currys/PCWorld promotion (and hoping for an xbox 360 for xmas this year), I decided I would use one of them for an HDMI cable. And they had one for 4.99 reduced from 7.99 or a less powerful currys essentials one for 4.99!! Brilliant, so I went up and bought it.
:j
NB: Many of you have been saying about the vigilant srtores withdrawing the amount of Gift Guides on display here's my story. I went into the Trowbridge store and there was piles of them in the lobby area (at least 50) and about 20 inside the store ready to take with signs saying to take one! Also when I used my voucher for the HDMI cable the store assistant put another Gift Guide in the bag!! And I took some on the way out. Already got a gift guide so tore out the back covers and put the coverless guides in recycling!:j0 -
Used 2 vouchers today.
Sent my mum in with one first, got a free 25 pack of blank cds - always handy.
I got a free sandwich toaster, bit on the small side, but I'm not complaining as it didn't cost me anything!
Thats four vouchers used now, and not had any hassle whatsoeverYoung moneysaver in the making

FromScotland wrote: »This seems very odd that they threatened to phone the Police just for trying to use one voucher, The worst they can do is refuse the vouchers if they think someone has been in before but how can they justify phoning the police? I think there must be more to this story that your friend never told you.
I think it's plausible that if a particular store has had a lot of people abusing the offer then they take action against the people who abuse the offer.
If you look at other threads on here people who have abused Shop Direct Group discount codes (Littlewoods, woolworths.co.uk etc) have had phone calls from fraud investigation departments and they've found the value of the discount which they shouldn't have had been removed from their bank account.0 -

I was just wondering, I found something cheap on the PC world website, can I use the code to get £5 off that price and collect in store? Would that work? I assume the price would be the same instore anyway as it doesn't say it's an online offer...0

you can reserve the item online and collect instore where you pay for it so you can use the voucher0

I entered my code quite a while ago and am pretty sure it said I'd get the voucher by Saturday Nov. 27th. Still nothing. Anyone else in that situation??0
