To cut a long story short the repair bill suddenly rose to £1800+ and weeks later claims for 'soft tissue damage' submitted, (tellingly minus any medical or photographic evidence).

If it's under £2000 the insurance company won't try to fight it because the legal costs would exceed that.
    This will never end imo

A few years ago I was parked on the side of the road when a car pulled into the space in front of me and caught my front wing as they pulled in resulting in damage to my car.

The claim was processed by the insurance company who arranged for the repair of my car which was fine. However I received several phonecalls from my insurance company asking about personal injury claims, the collision happened at less than 10mph, the car rocked slightly (I've had worse shunts from supermarket trolleys), I was met with shock and disbelief when I said there were no injuries to either myself or my two passengers, it took several calls before they got the message.
