Trying to decide and wade thru the gas/elec minefield

I could do with some help/advise regarding gas and electricity providers please - it's so confusing. I have my electricity with edf on the sco20:20 which we are really happy with and have been for the last couple of years, so don't want to move. If my gas consumption was as low as 5,752kWh pa, I would not be too worried about even a 7% increase. Are you sure that figure is correct-it's about a quarter of the average for a 3 b/r house with gas CH and hot water?
